Post-Boss Interactions
Follow-up interactions, unlocks, and downstream effects after boss clears.
Post Boss Interactions are interactions which can happen after entering the portal to the next level of an environment after defeating a Boss. They take place in a Serpent-Themed Chamber, and usually have an NPC, Selection, or some reward in the center of them.
Additionally, they have a Divine Pledge Altar towards the exit of the room. The following are a list of potential post boss interactions;
Quest, Class and Weapon Related Events
Malvo, The Gluttonous
Malvo, the Gluttonous, is a unique NPC found only in Post-Boss interactions, who will send you out multiple times seeking body parts from enemies to satiate his hunger. You are able to meet him multiple times, in which he will believe you are his servant who has come to feed him. Only by talking to Malvo will you be able to acquire various rewards, including Malvo's Toothpick, as well as the Aspect of The Shriveled Lord. It is implied by both the name of this Aspect & his appearance that Malvo is the Lord of the Shriveled, an enemy commonly found in the Majin Lands. For more information on his rewards / quests, please look at his Questline Here.
Mujica
Mujica can be found as a Post-Boss interaction upon completing Step 2 of his questline, found repeatedly stabbing himself in an attempt to die. It is here that he will reveal his inability to die, and his curse of immortality.
He also has a second post-boss interaction, upon which the player will unlock the Mujica's Shadow Curse for future runs.
The Firstborn
The Firstborn is a unique miniboss Post-Boss interaction which will start off with you approaching what seems to be a mannequin. Upon coming close enough, the Firstborn will reveal itself as the mannequin, and will being to attack you erratically, sometimes crawling on all fours and swinging The Hallowed Branch
It is implied that the player character and the firstborn have some relation, with the Firstborn being one of the first iteration of the player character, based on their distinctive mannequin-like appearance, the name of the "Firstborn", and the use of The Hallowed Branch (Formerly the Mace of the Maiden) in the fight.
Defeating the Firstborn will unlock The Hallowed Branch, a unique faith scaling weapon capable of inflicting Blight damage. Upon defeating the firstborn, you will additionally be able to interact with the small flower in the center of the room with butterflies swirling around it with the following options:
As you look down at the now lifeless mannequin, you sense an emptiness in your chest. You ask yourself, what is it you truly desire?

The Vagabond
The Vagabond can be found as a Post-Boss interaction two times for her Questline. This occurs after your 2nd meeting with her on the steps leading to Great Sister Vali. When you meet her for the first time, she will request your help in seeking out a necklace. At this encounter, the Glass Cardio Calling is given. The next time you meet her, you can hand over the necklace, and she will again request for your help in eliminating a witness who saw her going some place she wasn't supposed to. After this final interaction, she will appear in the Garden.
The Witness
The Witness in his first post-boss interaction.
The Witness is a special Post-Boss interaction who you can find randomly throughout your runs. Just like Malvo & The Vagabond, he has a questline. He can be found twice in Post-Boss interactions, with the very first interaction you have with him being in which he is kneeling and praying over a dying Observer. The third interaction you have with him, he will be kneeling and praying over a dying "Holy Hand".
Galesworn Greatsword
The Galesworn Greatsword is a unique weapon that can be unlocked by randomly encountering it during a Post-Boss interaction. To unlock the weapon permanently, YOU MUST pick up the Greatsword and use it for the rest of your run. It is one of the few weapons with massive scalings in every stat. Additionally, you will gain the Calling Galesworn even if you have not selected it after the run. Additionally, when picking up the Galesword Greatsword for the first time, if you already have Weapon Masteries with your original weapon, you will receive the first two Weapon Masteries for the Galesword Greatsword associated with the primary attack.
