Maps & Levels

Maps[]

As of June 1st, 2026, Serpents Gaze has 2 official "Maps", each with 4 distinct levels. Progression through the levels allows you to carry over your upgrades (Blessings, Weapon Masteries, Seeds, & Callings), as well as Blood, to progressively snowball your build.

Each level has alternating upgrade stations (Blacksmith & Serpent Shop), fixed. At the end of each level will be a Purchasable Nectar Table, allowing you to purchase Nectar for Blood.

Each level has a fixed boss fight at the end of the level, as well as various secrets capable of being found within each level, with more being found by the discord & fanbase.

Majin Lands[]

1. Jirahka Ruins[]

The first outpost built by the Nomadic Majin, in ages past.

The Jirhka ruins are a base camp for the faction known as the Majin, and is the first real area many encounter.

In prehistoric times, wandering Attar tribes took shelter around the mountains during the terrible Sedonian Storms that ravaged the desert from tiem to time. One of these tribes would eventually happen upon a part of the mountain with ancient abandoned caverns, carved out by an unknown civilization, long before any Attar wandered the dunes. Mighty structures and sculptures were uncovered, and these became the new basis for a more permanent outpost of the tribe, that would later call themselves the Majin - the Wanderers.

The caves beyond these mountains were a great mystery to the newly arrived Majin - who had built them? And more importantly, where had they gone?

Driven by, part desperation to find a permanent home, and part curiosity, they ventured deeper into the ancient halls and corridors. Eventually they reached the other end of the mountain, and stared at the Great Divide.

The nomadic Majin return to the hidden city within these mountains, whenever they are blessed with a new Dreamer. This usually happens only once every generation, which means their desert pilgrimage sometimes lasts for decades.

Jirahka Ruins is the first level that you typically experience right after the tutorial. It contains 3 selectable Seed choices, located as follow;

  1. Found just past the starting camp, toward the locked gate that can later be interacted and opened permanently
  2. Found just past the elite enemy guarding the courthouse past the locked gate, within a small open stable-room
  3. Found just after the luxurious room overlooking the courtyard just before you head down the stairs.

Jirahka Ruins features a Blacksmith Anvil just past the section where you are able to select your 2nd Seed, past a tight hallway and in a room with many enemies. There are a few secrets here, namely a seed hidden behind breakable wooden walls just past the section where you obtain your 3rd seed choice, as well as a few shortcuts accessible through gates & breakable wooden walls.

The Boss at the end of the Jirahka Ruins is Great Sister Vali, found as you ascend the stairs to a small worshipping temple. Additionally, if you have spoken to her previously, The Vagabond can be found laying down on the stairs leading up to the boss arena.

2. The Great Divide[]

The deep scar that separates the Sedonian Desert from the land of mortals.

The Great Divide is the name of the Rift located beneath the various Bridges which connect the outskirts of the land to the interior, Sedonian Desert. It is said that "The deep scar separates the Sedonian Desert from the land of mortals", and implies that The Great Divide was the remnants of some conflict.

The Great Divide - a strange, deep cut running through the mountains. When the wandering Majin reached the Divide, at first they were cowered in awe, for here stood massive pillars of staring Serpents. Serpents are primordial. They are chaos and mayhem. Every descendant of the Attar knows this, and to avoid them - and yet, they ventured onwards toward the unknown, beyond the warning statues.

From the broken pillars in the Divide, the Majin erected bridges of their own while doing their best to pay respect to the remnants of the founders. They wished not to anger the spirits of the Serpentkin.

Beyond these gates lies Namah, a labirinthine city as ancient as it is mysterious. For the first time, the Majin felt at ease - at last they had a place they could call home. But the halls of Namah were filled with Sedonian Sand

The Great Divide is the second level within the Majin Lands, and the level is notable for being effectively, a massive bridge, connecting the Jirahka Ruins to the interior section of their city, Namah. Notable enemies here are the Golems, located at a significant distance on the other Bridge to the right, which will attempt to snipe you as you cross the various obstacles to progress along the bridge. (Did you know these can be killed with the Seed which applies blight when injured?)

It contains 2 selectable Seed choices, located as follow;

  1. Located just before the locked gate leading to the room with a Serpent Shop, just before you are required to head underneath the bridge to progress
  2. Located after the section after the room with the Serpent Shop, on the platforming section. You will be able to spot it just as you approach, atop various wooden braces

Notably, to make up for the limited Seed choices, a Serpent Shop can be found in the middle of the level. It is advised to come back to this shop if you do not have enough blood, as there are various interactable pulleys and gates which can be moved so that access can be granted to this shop all the way to the boss arena.

3. Namah, City of Pilgrims[]

The place where Dreamers are delivered unto the wise Custodians.

Namah, City of Pilgrims, is the "Hallowed city of the Majin, claimed from a long lost Serpentine Kingdom" Notably, the city seems to be dilapidated, with various mysterious serpent-like statues, artifacts that seem to reference The Dream Thing, and grand architecture much too large for normal humans and Majin. Namah seems to have been the city for a culture preceding the Majin, a mysterious Serpentine Kingdom as seen with various statues.

Namah is the third level within the Majin Lands, and is notable for its massive architecture, mysterious artifacts, and relation to the Deity "The Dream Thing", who you are able to pledge to at Divine Pledge Altars. This level introduces new enemies for the Majin faction, and can pose as one of the first real challenges for many who are on their first few runs of the game.

It contains 2 selectable Seed choices, located as follow;

  1. Located just past the pulley which opens the gate within the large room with the strange blue artifact.
  2. Just after entering the gate and ascending a flight of stairs, to the left side of the top of the staircase.

Namah features a Blacksmith Anvil just past the section where you are able to select your 2nd Seed, by a firepit guarded by elevated enemies and an eleite enemy.

4. Temple of Metamorphosis[]

A place for those who shall never be Dreamers.

The Temple of Metamorphosis "Lies at the very edge of the Sedonian Desert, it is the source of pink Sand. It is harvested for powerful and transformative magic." The Temple, while in ruins similar to the state of Namah, seems to be from the same time period as that of Namah. The architecture implies the founders were the same Serpentine Kingdom that has seemingly vanished,

The Temple of Metamorphosis is the final level within the Majin lands, with various artifacts of the Serpentine Kingdom as well as the Majin's deity, "The Dream Thing".

It contains 2 selectable Seed choices, located as follow;

  1. Roughly in the middle of the map before the ambush of various reinforcements. It is within a dilapidated, cavernous hallway
  2. Within a strange glowing room, with a sealed doorway in the center of one of the walls. (Very interesting. Calling it now, secret area.)

The Temple of Metamorphosis also includes a Serpent Shop just before the boss, allowing for last minute spending of any stored blood.

Domain Of The Attar'Esh[]

1. Streets Of Min'Esh[]

A city blessed by a God, and home to the faithful Attar'Esh.

The Capital of Attar'Esh, founded by the

The Temple of Metamorphosis is the first level within the Domain of The Attar'Esh. It is a sprawling, maze-like city that features the faithful Attar'Esh as enemies compared to the Majin Lands Majin.

It contains 3 selectable Seed choices, located as follow;

  1. Just after jumping off from the starting area, to the right of the courtyard
  2. Just after crossing a minor bridge guarded by a strong enemy
  3. Just after the small street with a canal running through the middle where you can meet The Vagabond for the first time

Min'Esh features a Blacksmith Anvil just after a small courtyard past the 2nd seed, in the top left corner. Additionally, just after this is the location where you can first meet The Vagabond,

2. The Sanguine Cathedral[]

A place where blasphemers are sent to face divine judgement.

3. The Grand Library[]

A place where the most dangerous secrets are kept.

4. Justicia, Holy Court[]

A place where blasphemers are sent to face divine judgement.
